What is DLZ soft landing?

A landing designed around the market, not just the paperwork

A soft landing service helps a foreign company establish a legal, operational presence in a new country without having to figure everything out on its own. At DLZ we approach it commercially: before defining the paperwork, we understand who you will sell to, through which channel, at what price and against which competitors.

We have spent years representing international brands in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama, and taking part in trade fairs, trade missions and business matchmaking events. We put that experience at your disposal so your arrival is orderly, compliant and, above all, profitable.

Incorporating the company is the first step.
Selling is the goal.

That is why our support does not end when your company is registered: it continues until your brand has buyers, a sales channel and an operation up and running.
Who is it for?

Companies that have already set their sights on Central America

Manufacturers and brands

looking for a local representative or distributor before investing in their own office.

Exporters

already selling to the region on a per-order basis and wanting a permanent presence and local service.

Companies evaluating the market

that need real market data to decide whether to enter, how, and with what investment.

Trade mission participants

who met buyers at a trade fair or matchmaking event and need to close the deal.

How we work

The DLZ route in four stages

Every company arrives with different needs. You can take the full route or only the stages you need.

1

Market diagnosis

  • Market research: demand, competition, pricing and sales channels.
  • Regulatory requirements and sanitary or technical registrations that apply to your product.
  • Preliminary tariff classification review and estimated landed cost.
  • Recommended entry model: representation or your own company.
2

Legal structure and local presence

  • Advice on the right legal entity (corporation, branch or other).
  • Coordination of the notarial process, Commercial Registry, business license and tax ID (NIT).
  • Trademark registration in the countries where you will operate.
  • Importer registration and customs enablement with a licensed customs broker.
3

Commercial entry

  • Representation of your brand with buyers in different sectors.
  • Business agendas with distributors, retail chains and corporate clients.
  • Presence at trade fairs, networking events and technical information sessions.
  • Handling of samples, presentations and opportunity follow-up.
4

Operation and growth

  • Coordination of imports, warehousing and distribution.
  • Local sales service and customer support.
  • Performance reports and commercial strategy adjustments.
  • Expansion to El Salvador, Honduras and Panama when the operation allows.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a soft landing service?

It is the support a foreign company receives to establish itself in a new country in a legal, orderly and lower-risk way. At DLZ it includes market diagnosis, legal structure, import enablement and commercial entry with local buyers.

Do I need to incorporate a company to sell in Guatemala?

Not always. Many brands start under a representation agreement with DLZ and incorporate their own company when volume justifies it. During the diagnosis we recommend the model that best fits your product and investment plan.

Do you also cover other Central American countries?

Yes. DLZ has a presence in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama, so we can plan entry into one or several markets in a coordinated way.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the entry model, the legal entity chosen and the registrations your product requires. At the end of the diagnosis we deliver a timeline with the estimated time for each stage.

Can you help me import my products?

Yes. We coordinate importer registration, tariff classification review and customs enablement with a licensed customs broker, as well as logistics, warehousing and local distribution.

What do I need to get started?

An initial conversation about your product, your target market and your expectations. With that information we prepare a tailored work proposal.

Is your company thinking about entering Guatemala or Central America?

Tell us what you sell and who you want to sell to. We will get back to you with a clear route for your market entry.
